On 29 July 2015, the WSH Institute Solutioning Suite was launched to assist policymakers and businesses develop solutions to address multi-stakeholder and complex challenges which pose a high risk to the safety and health of workers. It aims to co-develop practical, customised and sustainable solutions to prevent work injuries and ill health in workplaces. The WSH Institute Solutioning Suite was announced by the Minister for Manpower, Mr Lim Swee Say, at the WSH Awards 2015.

JOINT RESEARCH SOLUTIONING FOR WASTE MANAGEMENT INDUSTRY

The WSH Institute initiated a multi-stakeholder Solutioning project for the waste management industry in February 2012. The project has helped stakeholders (including Government agencies, operators of incineration plants, waste collection companies and suppliers of equipment) better understand, manage and prevent major workplace disruptions caused by falling waste containers.

SOLUTIONING ON PREVENTING FORMWORK INCIDENTS

Arising from the spate of fatal formwork accidents, WSH Institute organised the WSH Institute Solutioning Session on 28 March 2014 focusing on Preventing Formwork Incidents. The Solutioning Session provided the platform for stakeholders from the entire formwork value chain to collectively identify root causes and solutions to prevent future formwork incidents.

SOLUTIONING ON MEASURING SAFETY & PRODUCTIVITY THROUGH BIM
Greater understanding of stakeholders' challenges
The WSH Institute, in collaboration with the Department of Building, National University of Singapore (NUS), organised the WSH Institute Solutioning Session – Measuring Safety and Productivity using Building Information Modelling (BIM) on 11 June 2014. The session provided a platform for participants to discuss the link between safety and productivity and the potential of BIM to facilitate the attainment of safety and productivity improvements.

The Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Institute held the WSH Institute Solutioning Session – Preventing Pinning Incidents in Ladder-equipped Tipper Trucks on 4 February 2015 to gather inputs from tipper truck owners, ladder retrofitters, truck distributors and relevant regulatory agencies on solutions to mitigate the risk of pinning hazards in tipper trucks equipped with ladders.

SOLUTIONING ON PREVENTING CRANE-RELATED INCIDENTS
Recommendations contributed towards 2016 Workplan of the Taskforce
WSH Institute, in collaboration with the Ministry of Manpower and the WSH Council, organised the WSH Institute Solutioning Session on 16 September 2015. The session was organised to understand the challenges faced by stakeholders of the crane community in implementing WSH initiatives on the ground; and brainstorm for solutions to improve WSH performance of crane operations so as to prevent future crane collapses.
