AN APPRECIATION & FAREWELL CEREMONY FOR MINISTER TAN CHUAN JIN

Apart from sharing his reflections during his four-year stint with MOM, Minister Tan Chuan Jin also expressed his thanks to all MOMers at the ceremony held on 27th April 2015:

To all my colleagues at MOM, thank you for everything. I leave MOM in the good hands of Mr Lim Swee Say, a man I deeply respect and admire. I’m sure that Chun Sing, who takes over Swee Say’s post at NTUC, will continue his good work at NTUC and will ensure that we have a strong partnership with our unions. I would also like to extend my thanks to Stephen Lee, ex-president of SNEF, as well as current president Robert Yap. Under their leadership, we have a strong and unique tripartite partnership in Singapore to safeguard the welfare of our workers. Together, we will continue to build a better Singapore for Singaporeans.”

AN APPRECIATION & FAREWELL CEREMONY FOR SENIOR PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY HAWAZI DAIPI

In appreciation to Senior Parliamentary Secretary (SPS) Hawazi Daipi for his contribution to MOM, a farewell event was held on 21 Sep 2015, at MOM HQ.

Permanent Secretary Low Khum Yean gave a farewell speech to SPS, on behalf of MOMers and thanked SPS for his valuable guidance and support for MOM for the past 11 years, especially in the areas of workplace safety and health, better support for low-wage workers, retirement adequacy, foreign workers’ welfare and many more.

A video was prepared to relive some of the fond memories of SPS’ time in MOM. DOSH wittily came up with an acronym for SPS’ name – Hawazi Daipi, which stands for Health At Work, Achieving Zero Injuries. Determination And Innovation Prevents Injuries. The crowd burst into laughter and applause and it was definitely a catchy way to remember SPS by.
