40 Years of Tripartite Commitment & Partnership

The tripartite partners – MOM, NTUC and SNEF – have launched a commemorative publication, titled “The Story of NWC – 40 Years of Tripartite Commitment and Partnership” to record four decades of the Council’s work since its formation in 1972.

The book provides readers with insights to the work of the NWC and the roles played by the tripartite partners in working together to issue the annual wage guidelines, taking into consideration factors, such as economic growth and prospect, productivity, international competitiveness, inflation, as well as employment situation. It also records the views of key individuals who were involved in the NWC discussions over the years.

MOM has set aside complimentary copies of the book for the public to request for on a first-come-first-served basis and they have been fully redeemed. The books are now available at the public libraries. Members of the public who are interested may wish to borrow a copy from the public libraries.
