Do the Tripartite Guidelines require employers to approve all flexible work arrangement (FWA) requests?

You are not required to approve all FWA requests. However, you must put in place processes to properly consider and respond to your employees' FWA requests.

You should provide a written decision on formal FWA requests within 2 months of receiving it. If you reject the request, you should provide a reason for rejection. You are also encouraged to discuss alternatives with your employee if it is not possible to accept the request.
