My company has our own HR process for submitting a formal flexible work arrangement (FWA) request that requires more or less information than the components stipulated in the Tripartite Guidelines. Would a request made through this HR process be considered a formal request under the Tripartite Guidelines?

Such requests may be considered as formal requests under the Tripartite Guidelines. You should specify the information that your employees are required to include in their formal FWA requests, so that you can keep existing processes for FWA requests and avoid undue administrative burden of modifying such processes to align with the Tripartite Guidelines.

The required information stipulated in paragraph 12 of the TG-FWAR applies to employees whose employers do not specify the required information that should be included in a formal FWA request. In these cases, there should be a minimum level of information provided to help employers properly address the request.
