It is mandatory for all forklift operators to attend the WSQ Operate Forklift Course. In addition, forklift operators operating forklift above 5 tonnes must also attend the Heavy Forklift Course.
From 1 January 2027, you must ensure your forklift operators attend refresher training on the operation of forklift once every 3 years. You can refer to the circular for more information.
We recommend that employers identify appropriate avenues for this training to be conducted, such as accredited training providers.
The training should take reference from the requirements in SS 573:2012 and the WSH Council’s Guidelines on Safe Operation of Forklift Trucks.
