You should attend refresher training on the operation of forklifts once every 3 years.

You should attend refresher training on the operation of forklifts once every 3 years.

Additional refresher training should be conducted for operation of heavy forklift above 5 tonnes to ensure operators’ competency.

We recommend that employers identify appropriate avenues for this training to be conducted, such as accredited training providers. Refresher training can also be conducted via suppliers or in-house training, provided that they are competent to do so.

The training should take reference from the requirements in SS 573:2012 and the WSH Council’s Guidelines on Safe Operation of Forklift Trucks.
