Is it mandatory to complete the self-assessment checklist before notifying MOM?

No, you are not legally required to complete the checklist. However, you are encouraged to use the checklist to check if you meet the criteria of a platform operator.

Please note however that the checklist is meant to be a self-help resource. It does not constitute legal advice and is not definitive in determining whether you are a platform operator or not, because it depends on the specific circumstances of your company. You should still seek legal advice if you are unsure whether you are a platform operator.

After you have self-assessed to be a platform operator, you must notify MOM. Failure to notify MOM could result in an administrative penalty.
