Apply to add approved scaffold supervisor or erector
Approved scaffold contractors can add scaffold supervisors, erectors or riggers to their approved personnel. Each team must employ at least 2 supervisors and 5 erectors or riggers.
Before moving to another approved scaffold contractor (ASC), scaffold supervisors and erectors need to first be removed from their existing ASC’s approved personnel list.
Requirements
As an approved scaffold contractor, you must have a team of competent workers. Each team must be:
Under the charge of at least 2 competent scaffold supervisors or suspended scaffold supervisors.
Made up of at least 5 competent scaffold erectors or suspended scaffold riggers to carry out their jobs safely.
Requirements for scaffold supervisors
Scaffold supervisors or suspended scaffold supervisors must be trained and competent in scaffolding work. They must also be familiar with the scaffold manufacturer's procedures.
To be considered competent, a supervisor must:
Have completed the Supervision of Metal Scaffold Erection Course or Suspended Scaffold Supervisor Course conducted by a training provider approved by the Commissioner for Workplace Safety and Health.
Have completed the Work-At-Height Course for Supervisors conducted by a training provider approved by the Commissioner for Workplace Safety and Health
Have a minimum of 2 years’ relevant practical experience in scaffolding work.
Requirements for scaffold erectors or riggers
Each scaffold erector and suspended scaffold rigger must:
Be properly trained in the techniques of scaffolding work.
Have successfully completed the Metal Scaffold Erection Course or Suspended Scaffold Rigger Course, conducted by a training provider approved by the Commissioner.

Updating MOM on changes and work done
If your application is approved, you need to:
Inform us of any changes to the employment status of the scaffold supervisors, erectors or riggers you employ, including resignation or retirement.
Keep and maintain a record of scaffolding work by each scaffold or suspended scaffold supervisor. The record must be made available for inspection.
