Gazette of WSH (Operation of Cranes) (Amendment) Regulations 2016

The WSH (Operation of Cranes) (Amendment) Regulations 2016 has been gazetted and published on 6 January 2016. It will come into operation on 7 January 2016.

Prior to the amendment to the Regulations, operators of tower crane and mobile crane (except for lorry loader) regardless of its capacity are required to be registered with MOM before they are allowed to operate the crane.

With the amendment, mini crane operators are no longer required to be registered. Mini cranes are mobile cranes with a capacity of 5 tonnes or less.
