Mrs Lina Chiam: To ask the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Manpower (a) for each of the years from 2006 to 2011, what are the numbers and percentages of local workers versus foreign workers; and (b) what is the forecast for the numbers and percentages of local workers versus foreign workers for 2012 and 2013 for the (i) chemical industry; (ii) marine engineering industry; (iii) aerospace engineering industry; (iv) manufacturing industry; and (v) finance sector.
Mr Tharman Shanmugaratnam:The breakdown of employment by residential status as at end of 2006 to 2011 is provided in Table 1. There are no forecasts for 2012 and 2013 for the specific industries.
