To ask the Minister for Manpower what is the number of purpose-built dormitories and the number of beds that have been (i) completed annually each year over the last ten years and (ii) expected to be completed in each year over the next five years.

Answer:

1. Twenty-five purpose-built dormitories (PBDs) having a total of about 145,800 beds were completed in the past ten years. Relevant government agencies will continue to work together to make more sites available for PBDs and expect at least seven PBDs with a total of 47,000 beds to be completed over the next five years.
