Written Answer to PQ on PMET wage breakdown by industry

NOTICE PAPER NO. 2756 OF 2024 FOR SITTING ON 7 MAY 2024
QUESTION NO. 5773 FOR WRITTEN ANSWER

NCMP: Mr Leong Mun Wai

To ask the Minister for Manpower (a) whether he can provide the wage or salary breakdown of local and foreign PMETs in each industry for each year from 2020 to 2023; and (b) if not, why not.

Answer:

The salaries of non-resident Employment Pass (EP) and S Pass holders by industry are reflected in Tables 1 and 2 respectively. As EP and S Pass holders account for the majority of non-resident Professional, Manager, Executive & Technician (PMET) jobs, we have provided data on the salaries for EP and S Pass holders. We peg the minimum costs of hiring EP and S Pass holders to the top one-third of resident PMETs and Associate Professionals & Technicians (APTs) respectively to ensure that companies are bringing in top tier talent. For resident income data, the Member may refer to MOM’s statistics webpage https://stats.mom.gov.sg.
