QUESTION NO. 6508 FOR ORAL ANSWER

MP: Mr Liang Eng Hwa

To ask the Minister for Manpower (a) what is the utilisation rate of the CareersFinder by Singaporeans since the beta version has been launched; (b) what are the feedback on the effectiveness of this version of the CareersFinder; and (c) when will the full version be ready for use.

Answer:

1. CareersFinder was introduced on the MyCareersFuture portal in July 2023. It harnesses Government data and artificial intelligence to help jobseekers to identify adjacent occupations and training opportunities based on their skills. As of 30 June 2024, over 35,000 individuals have used CareersFinder.

2. The feedback on CareersFinder has been positive. Based on surveys and engagement sessions, users appreciate the data-driven insights on jobs and training opportunities. Users also go on to explore a wider range of opportunities. On average, jobseekers applied to 50% more occupations after they used CareersFinder.

3. In response to user feedback, we have enhanced CareersFinder with new features such as allowing users to filter course recommendations based on skills for quicker identification of relevant courses. CareersFinder has been out of beta since March 2024. We will continue to take an iterative and agile approach to improving CareersFinder.
