To ask the Minister for Manpower whether there is any update on the Ministry’s plan to issue tripartite guidelines on the inclusion of restraint of trade clauses in employment contracts.
Answer:
1. The Ministry of Manpower is discussing with its tripartite partners – the National Trades Union Congress and the Singapore National Employers Federation – on how and when restrictive clauses in employment contracts can and should be used, based on established principles that the Courts have articulated.
