National Wages Council Invites Views on Wage Guidelines
The National Wages Council (NWC) chaired by Prof Lim Pin, Professor of Medicine at the National University of Singapore, will commence its deliberations on wage and wage-related guidelines for 2010/2011 in April 2010. To assist the NWC in its deliberations, members of the public and organisations are invited to offer their views on the wage guidelines.
2. In its deliberations, the NWC will consider relevant factors such as the economic performance and outlook globally, regionally and in Singapore'. The Council will also look at Singapore's cost competitiveness, labour market conditions, productivity and rewards to workers for their contribution.
3. Members of the public and organisations are invited to give their views on the wage guidelines for this year, including productivity improvement, sharing of productivity gains and the re-employment of older employees. They can send their views to the Secretary of the NWC through the following channels by 16 April 2010:
