Launch of Comprehensive Labour Force Survey 2020
The Manpower Research and Statistics Department of the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) will conduct the annual Comprehensive Labour Force Survey (CLFS) from 13 April 2020, over a period of four months.
Participation from households
2 All households selected for the survey will be notified by post. In view of the evolving COVID-19 situation, MOM has taken measures to minimise the need for face-to-face interviews, and strongly encourages all survey respondents to complete the survey online.
About the Survey
3 The CLFS is a national survey to collect data on the current state of the Singapore labour market. The survey will cover 33,000 randomly selected households.
4 The survey results are used to provide timely insights on the labour market and make important decisions regarding job creation, education, training and income support.
5 This year, the CLFS will also include questions from the Census 2020 so as to reduce the likelihood of households being approached twice by both the Department of Statistics and Ministry of Manpower.
Data Confidentiality and Accuracy
6 All information collected is protected and kept confidential under the Statistics Act (Chapter 317). In view of the importance of the survey results, participation in the survey is compulsory under the Statistics Act. MOM counts on the cooperation of households to actively participate in the survey to ensure data accuracy.
7 Households who are unable to participate online can also opt for a phone interview by calling MOM Survey Hotline at 6320 7777 from Monday to Sunday (8.30am to 9.30pm) or email mom_rsd_lfs@mom.gov.sg to make an appointment.
