Renew a Factory Registration
If your factory is under renewable registration or Major Hazard Installation (MHI) registration, you need to renew your Certificate of Registration (CR) or Certificate of MHI registration every 5 years.

How to renew
For non-MHI
To apply for renewal:
- Log in to GoBusiness and fill in the application.
- Upload the process hazard analysis (PHA) document.
- Pay the fee through GoBusiness.
- Print the factory certificate and acknowledgement page. Note down the application number for future enquiries. The application number starts with “R” and is followed by 10 digits.
When you renew your CR, we will check your factory’s PHA, such as the hazard and operability analysis (HAZOP) and failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA).
For MHI
To apply for renewal:
- Log in to Gobusiness and fill in the application.
- Upload the MHI assessment Form.
- Pay the fee through GoBusiness after you receive the fee notice via email. It could take up to 6 months for you to receive the email.
- Print the Certificate of MHI Registration and acknowledgement page. Note down the application number for future enquiries. The application number starts with “R” and is followed by 10 digits.
You need to review, and if necessary, revise your safety case at least once every 5 years. If required, the safety case will need to be submitted by the date to be determined and informed by the Commissioner. Otherwise, the Certificate of MHI Registration may be revoked, suspended or cancelled.
